Hello. I thought the Chameleon was kind of cool in 3.5 ed and I've read some stuff about people wanting maybe another way to multiclass, and I decided to see if maybe the Chameleon as a Base class would prove interesting. I have a feeling that what I came up with is probably unbalanced and awkwardly worded, but it's the best I can do, so I'd appreciate suggestions very much. Thank you.

Role: Varies. You choose your own path, whichever is most beneficial to yourself and your allies.

Able Learner
Whenever you gain a level, you may retrain a skill. This does not count against your normal retraining.
Aptitude Focus
At 1st level, choose two roles from Controller, Defender, Leader, and Striker. For each role chosen, choose a class corresponding to that role. These are your Aptitude Classes. Whenever you would gain an attack power, instead choose an attack power of the appropriate level for each aptitude class you possess. Whenever you would retrain a power, you may retrain one power you have chosen from one of your Aptitude Classes. The other rules regarding retraining powers apply.
Once per day, after a focusing process that takes 1 hour, you may choose one of your Aptitude Classes. You may use attack powers that you have chosen from that Aptitude Class as if it was your class. Daily Powers refresh normally, and not when you perform an Aptitude focus.
You are not actually considered to be either of your Aptitude Classes for the purposes of meeting the requisites for feats, paragon paths, or other options. Any multiclass feats you take must correspond to one of your aptitude classes.

Fickle Dabbler Path Features.
Upon taking the Fickle Dabbler Path, choose a role that you did not pick at 1st level and a class corresponding to that role. This is your Path class.
At 11th level, you gain a 1st-level at-will power from both your Aptitude Classes and your Path Class. You also gain a 7th level or lower encounter power from your Path Class.
At 12th level, you gain a utility power of 10th level or lower from your Path Class.
At 14th level, you may swap one encounter attack power of the same level from each of your Aptitude Classes for an encounter attack power of the same level or lower from your Path Class.
At 16th level, you may swap one of your utility powers for a utility power of the same level or lower from your Path Class.
At 18th level, you may swap one daily attack power of the same level from each of your Aptitude Classes for a daily attack power of the same level or lower from your Path Class.
