4e: The final word

4e: The final word

4e is D&D. It says so, right on the label.

4e is not 3e, 2e, or 1e, just as they were not their predecessors.

4e still lets you kill things and take their stuff.

4e is not for everyone. Some people who love D&D do not love 4e.

Maybe that's your final word. Not mine.

For me, 4E is not D&D, it's not like any editions before it and carries much more differences with its predecessors than the predecessors between them, 4E still lets you kill things and take their stuff, 4E's design does include some interesting ideas, and no, 4E isn't for everyone. I can imagine playing 4E and having fun with the right people around the table, but if I can play any of the D&D versions I want to play instead, I surely will.

Seems to me that some just can't stand that others think in other ways than they do, express different opinions, preferences based on different experiences and still be right.

The final word in the 4E PHB (not counting the playtester credits or index) is "hear".

The final word in the 4E DMG (not counting the combat cards or index) is "playing".

The final word in the 4E MM (not counting the monsters-by-level list) is "spell".

So we can see that there are several final words in 4E. To each his own.

So long as you pick one of hear, playing, or spell.

I was going to post something in this thread and then realised it was a gigantic waste of my time. I keep having these thoughts when it comes to posts like this. It's probably why my post count is so low...... Anyway carry on.

Level 19.....+4..... 90,000gp
Level 26.....+5.....1,500,000gp

Weapon: Heavy Blade

But you DID post something in this thread. That's sort of recursive, don't you think?
