Squeal's opportunity attack against Claymore misses, but Squeal chases the villain down, and in an incredible display of power, manages to cleave his blade deep into the enemy warforged's shoulder. Before he falls to the ground, Crag mumbles, "You - you bastard. You'd murder your old pal? Munsu's dagger in your back, Squeal. Gods damn you." His red eyes go black, and he falls in a heap. Claymore is clearly incapacitated, although still alive.

The upstairs room is clearly the bedchamber of Lord Hood. The bed is furnished with an ornate set of silken blankets (some of them still caked in blood from the mysterious attack). A small desk sits in the corner, and the floor around it is littered with paper. A stained-glass window next to the desk overlooks the main garden of the castle, and on the opposite wall of the room hangs a portrait of the king as a youthful warrior.

[sblock=ooc]Although Claymore's HP is below 0, he's still alive. You may choose to revitalize him, leave him unconscious, execute him, etc.[/sblock]

Downstairs, the mechanical beast shuts down and falls over in a heap. The party may move upstairs uninhibited if they so choose. The encounter is now over.

With one guard dead and another wounded, and with an incapacitated assassin upstairs, what do you do?

[sblock=ooc]Now that we're out of combat, you can discuss Crag's fate, deal with the surviving guard, or whatever you want.[/sblock]

Corporal Hedges glances at the guard and goes over to look down at the dead one with a grim expression. After a moment he reaches down to close the dead man's eyes.

"I'm escorting these civilians out of here," he replies gruffly. "You regroup with whoever's left fighting. I'll catch up shortly. If the fight elsewhere's over too, let 'em know we've got someone fer questioning here."

Squeal, Warforged barbarian

Squeal leans over the fallen warforged, trying to place him. Calling down to the others the warforged asks "This one is not quite deactivated yet, should we ask it some questions?"

Does Squeal recogniza Crag?

For the moment Squeal will leave Crag unconscious, but have a weapon ready to finish him, just incase.

[sblock=OOC to DF]I do believe you missed my shift into the square (C5) right next to Claymore. If he moves then I should easily be able to make an OA at well as he's leaving a square I threaten right? If so I'll make the attack here in the OOC statblock as not to interrupt the game! 1d20+4=12, 1d8+2=4 it's a miss anyways... disregard LOL....[/sblock]

Doren reaches over to the now kneeling guard consoling his lost partner.. his hand gripping the soldiers shoulder mournfully "I'm sorry my friend, I did the best I could to try and save him. He's in Blackmoors hand now. the law priest said softly, his voice oozing with grief. Picking his head up quickly as he watched Claymore run like a coward he snarled. "I don't care what it takes DO NOT let that coward machine escape! He MUST face Blackmoors judgement!" Doren said as he quickly looked over to Squeal with a 'No Offense' look in his eyes.

Noting the others moving to take care of Claymore, Doren quickly knelt before the dead guard and pulled his fingers over his eyes, closing them shut. Still warm in body, Doren ripped a window curtain from a nearby window and placed it over the felled guards body before kneeling once more to give the dead man his last words before he went to be judged before the almighty Blackmoor himself. "This one died defending your laws in honorable combat m'Lord. Watch over and and judge fairly for this one died in the service and duty to your cause." the priest uttered lowly as he gave the man a final goodbye with a soft touch of his hand to his chest before covering him fully up.

[sblock=ooc Rathan]Sorry I missed your opportunity attack - I must have missed your shift.[/sblock]
[sblock=ooc Phaezen]Squeal does not recognize Crag, but he does know that it's possible that they met sometime before Squeal was deactivated in Vespus.[/sblock]

Downstairs: The living guard takes up his sword again, and in response to Corporal Hedge, says "Yes sir. I'll go retrieve the battlement patrol and we'll secure a perimeter until morning." The guard heads downstairs and out of sight.

[sblock=ooc to everyone]Please check the OOC thread. I've got a few questions I'd like to ask everybody regarding leveling up. In the meantime, keep on posting in here. I'll chime in with replies to your various actions and stuff. When everybody is ready to move on, we can go.[/sblock]

Torath follows a little slower after the warforge and watches as Squeal successfully stops the villian. Moving up to Crag, Torath disarms the monster sending his sword clanging across the room.

"Still alive? Good, we need to bind this monster and then wake it to ask a few questions." he says lower his pack to the ground to fish out some rope.

Thorn watches the guard go, then looks at the others.

"Better idea. Lets just bring him with us. Once we're clear of the castle, we can question him all we want. We'll just say he's wounded and we're getting him to help."

"Whatever we're to be doin', we best get to doin' it," Baern says. "And we don't need to be doin' it in the King's room, lest the court thinks we've come to revisit our crime. C'mon now, let's get to meeting this dragonborn."

After Doren finishes with the fallen guard he follows the rest upstairs catching the latter of the conversation and nods in agreement.

"Yes... Lets get this metal killer out of here before we're spotted in these chambers." the law priest utters softly.
