ALL: I'll be away on Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon and evening. A friend's mother died. Visitation is in northern Indiana this Thursday, and then I've promised to join Alison on Saturday night to get schnookered at her home.

Yes -- sorry I didn't say anything in my lat post. I'm sorry to hear about your friend's mom. Be a good friend.

sure!
type "roll" in square brackets, and "/roll" in square brackets, and in-between you put the roll you want to created, e.g. "1d20+5"

put that all together, no spaces an no quotation marks, and you get a result:

[roll0]

Hope thats clear and helps.
Adding to that, if you want to name your roll, you do this:

[ roll = InsertOneWordHere ] 1d8 [ / roll ]

NB: I found out the hard way that while you can insert an entire phrase of several different words in sblocked and OOC tags, when you want to name a roll, you can only use one word. For example,

[roll0]

but not:

[roll1]

I took another look at your character sheets in the RG and have these questions:
Skarsgard, what is Colden's "tell" when he is lying?
tuxgeo, who or what killed Guran's parents, or did they die of a natural cause?
Forged Fury, what's the question for which Fulgrim has been searching for an answer his whole life?
Strahd_Von_Zarovich, just how far would Roscoe go to get a drink?
Kobold Stew, will Spec use his magic to benefit Guran if Guran won't recognize Spec's deity?

We're going to have to see! "recognize" is a different thing in a polytheistic world, than it is in our (default, falsely presumed) monotheistic west; and it's different again when there's objective evidence for the existence of gods active in the world. It's hard to deny the other gods exist, it's just whether you're willing to accept help from them.

I've not played a cleric before that actually drew this line, but I think it's an interesting one, and I was thinking that that I'd ask for a "thanks to Fharlanghn" from anyone receiving a healing spell or a guidance cantrip. (It would also let other players act with the benefit of a guidance spell; we could assume that such an acknowledgment was enough to get Spec to cast it on anyone if they want the 1d4 boost to a skill check.)

When the orcs came howling down from the Spine of the World during the Great Orc Wars, Guran's family was trying to eke out a living in a small mining village located among The Crags, a fair distance away from the left bank of the Mirar and slightly downstream from Mirabar. Guran was too young to fight, so his parents left him in care of other settlers while they went to defend their settlement. Neither of Guran's parents returned; and more than half of the dwarves in the village were either wounded or dead before the orcs lost enough blood and companions to rethink their attack on that site, and to divert their keen attentions to some easier target. Guessing that more waves of orcs might follow, and seeing their numbers badly depleted, the rest of the settlers hied themselves coastward to the human city of Neverwinter, where Guran was left in the care of a priest of Moradin at a temple there.

Guran was not the only orphan left at that temple; and several of the others were more apt candidates for the clergy, but Guran did gain a profound admiration for the Forge-Father's doctrines. He never could get any cantrips to work, and he was not a rousing orator, so his teachers concluded that he was not fit for the clergy; but they did let him stay there until he was old enough to leave.

(OK? More details?)

Fulgrim has been working for a while to uncover the whereabouts and general disposition of the Ironfist Pariahs, those dwarves of his clan who fled their home due to their practice of magic. Word has it that they set up shop in a variety of Dwarven Holds throughout Faerun.
