The headmaster grimaced, "I'm sorry, but spells are expensive. I can get you one scroll, but you'd have to work it out yourself, and pay any associated costs."

OOC: He can get you a single spell scroll that you could then scribe. But, you'd have to pay the 50 gp to scribe the scroll.

The Academy/Jacques
Winter/Afternoon
Round 0

“How about Raven’s Ugly Ass,” Asherah muttered when they were told they could name themselves. The opportunity still was great, though, a chance to get out of the Academy and apply their skills in the real world.

“I will help,” the tabaxi cleric asserted. “I will not abandon my friends.” She looked around at the others, her gaze lingering slightly longer on Quentin, with his always wetly styled hair and lean, muscled swimmer’s build. She found her fur fluffing and hoped he didn’t catch her staring. How could she even think about him like that? He didn’t even have fur! Or a tail!

“Wait, what’s winter?” Asherah asked when the Headmaster prodded them for questions.

Asherah studied the statue the Headmaster offered them. She picked it up and slipped it into her bag. “What does it do?” she asked. She would be ready to leave once she packed up. Perhaps in the morning, giving them the rest of the day to prepare.

"Do you know anything more, Headmaster? Anything that would help us prepare better? Or we just need to go and hope Lady Hurcule doesn't have trouble with awoken dragon? We're good, but not (yet) that good."

OOC: Quentin is itching to go and since we don't need anything special and we're teleporting there, I'd say we can go immediately after we get winter clothes. Gives us the rest of the day to talk, to find out what is what and who is who...and we can go to Sunless Citadel (defiled cathedral?) in the morning.

"What is winter?" Mim repeats back at the Tabaxi in her own Voice."Winter is cold very cold, some times ice falls from the sky and the ground becomes hard and slippery. In the worst winters people,' die freeze to death. Winter is bad. Winter is very bad"

OOC: Mim is ready to go after his shopping list is confirmed for price/availability.

Zivar Gnome Wizard

"Very well." Zivar says slightly defeated.

He sits listening to his friends talk with the headmaster while finishing his breakfast and thinking about where best to get food and warm clothing for the trip.

OOC: All prices are based on the PHB, and Winter Clothing is 10 gp. As an addendum to the previous post, you can get an item on credit, as long as you pay 20% more when you get back. Just subtract the gold from your sheet and add anything you purchase, and keep track of your debt.

The Headmaster folded his hands together in silence for a moment before answering Quentin.

"You seem to be under the impression that this is a school for children, where the faculty will step in when you get over your head to protect you from danger. You must banish such thoughts from your mind as of now.

"You are not children, nor are you helpless, and I certainly hope you are not fools. We do not select such to become students here. You come here to grow beyond your fellow kin, and you have full responsibility for your own actions.

"So my advice to you, Quentin, is to not be a fool. If you come across a recently awoken dragon, then I would expect someone of your skill to do one thing: run as far away as you can. There is no glory in dying trying to fight a beast you are not ready to confront. And if you do insist on doing so, then I would expect you to have a plan with at least a small chance of success."
