To the OP: Can you prove that 5th edition isn't around the corner?
I hate to break it to you but 4th edition in total hasn't lived up to what the designers thought it would.
5th edition is not around the Corner.
wlmartin;5623499 I am no longer responding (barring this helpful *grin* post) to anything discussing 5e any more said:You're no fun.
Personally, I come for the news and stay for the NerdRage. Its even more fun when you do not have any skin in the game.
Also, seeing how volatile this discussion is in whatever form it appears in, it may be worth creating a ban on 5e discussions.
I started this topic without thinking and can hold my hands up and say sorry for doing so... I have contributed in a number of other threads discussing 5e and it became a lot more contentious than I ever thought it would be.L.O.L.
I'll agree with you, they can be a pain, and often result in heated threads. However, I find it funny that you posted that there's no way it could happen, people disagreed with you, and now you want discussion of it banned.
But, as with many contentious topics, if people play nice, real discussion can occur. While YOU seem to think that only trolls and fools believe it may be the case that 5e is around the corner, there are people here who are neither and who find the directions of the major player(s) in the industry to be worth speculating upon.
I find it odd that you propose a topic, then wish for the topic to be banned.
Point of interest, as well... I am certainly guilty of posting passionately. However, if you want to start a thread on a contentious topic and keep things civil, I advise limiting the use of exclamation points or the word "Fragin".

As the OP, I regret opening this thread. I didn't think ahead and opened the flood gates to plenty more of this 4e vs 5e rubbish.
I would prefer, if my say has anything to do with it, to move this thread or close it.

The 3.5 vs 4 ones are quite interesting since there are valid points among them, even if I disagree with some of them but this 5e ranting (which I am aparty to unfortunately) is turning this forum area into a minefield.
I am no longer responding (barring this helpful *grin* post) to anything discussing 5e any more, it just isnt worth the fight
