Well, the link in that screenshot works...

Trouble is, it's the wrong time of year for April Fools. So, is this for real? (I don't have a DDI subscription so I can't check it myself) The main WotC page has nothing as of 11:30 p.m. PST.

EDIT: a quick search of the WotC site reveals nothing matching "dnd5", ditto for the forums. I'm skeptical, for now.

Yeah, there is dnd5.com, but nothing on the WotC page...

I'm thinkin' hoax. Even the most liberal 5e "doomsday" predictions weren't THIS early...

Yeah you can see the DND5 site is a place holder...Dungeons & Dragons 5 Coming Soon!

Total wind up, look at who wons the site LOL

When in doubt, check the whois.com

Whois.net - Domain Names

It's registered to "Sorcerers of the Mountain", along with some really suspect contact info.

Calling it as a hoax.
A hoax...or a trial balloon to see what the reaction is?

If it is a hoax (which seems likely), someone went to some trouble to pull it off.

The domain registration dates back to May of 2008, so someone's been sitting on this for a while now.

I am curious as to where weem's screenshot came from, though. Especially since that's clearly his own screenshot, and since the website displayed in the browser window (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/preset/upcoming/products.aspx) doesn't actually appear to exist.

Oh, and there's the matter of the WotC guys being on holiday right now, and thus incapable of rolling this out.

Also, the line "The 5th Edition of Dungeons & Dragons is more focused on miniature combat than ever," is completely unbelievable. That language would not be used, even if the focus on minis were to increase.
