Holy cow everyone thanks so much for all the input. And Tinner. Wow that was a lot of info. Which I assure you will be put to good use. I'm thinking more and more along the lines of a Bard as I go. Since it's a do a little of everything kinda guy.

The only modifications I'd suggest to that stellar character would be to substitute a couple of spells:
1) replace cure serious wounds with good hope (it stacks with inspire courage!)
2) replace sound burst with glitterdust (which can blind undead and screws with invis)
