47? I bow to you. I had no idea you had so many games. Incidentally I may be making it on sunday over at bob's...

A few of these are expansions. Which, according to bbg, is a game in itself. Soon, I'll hit 100.
:)

I just damn the person who introduced me to boardgames. Damn ye, now I'm addicted.!!1!

Board games are worse than drugs, IMHO. I must have more, I must buy, I must buy a game, that is never played, but, at least I own it, (Return of the heroes, Iron Dragon, a few others).... :(

Your attitude gives me hope. If I ever invent my perfect war game, at least I know I will sell one copy. And if I can come up with endless expansions, you might just put my kids through college.... ;)

That's the way I am with RPGs Craig. As of my Gen Con spending spree, I am two books away from having 700 role-playing games and supplements. Although, probably 30 of them are Adventurer's Club, Dragon, Dungeon and Polyhedron magazines. So, maybe I really am closer to 650 than 700. And the vast majority are things I have never played. Certainly that is true with the adventures and sourcebooks, but I have many complete RPGs I have never played. I'm getting into a real storage crunch now, just because I MUST HAVE MORE!!!! It is an illness, I am sure.

It is definitely illogical compulsive behavior. I think I was a bit that way when I was younger, mostly with books. It is a collector's mentality that I no longer have. In fact, the less stuff I have, the better.

Definitely a collector's mentality. I made the mistake, about a month ago, of actually looking at the books I have from Hero Games and comparing them to a complete list I found online. I realized I was about 10 books away from having a complete run of the books from first through fourth edition (back when I really played the game regularly.)

So, over the course of about a month, I whittled that number down to five. And of the five, one I really don't want to buy, one will be too hard and expensive to find (1st edition Champions) and the others, well, I COULD get them if I really wanted to, but it would be buying stuff for a very, very obsolete game.

So, in layman's terms, I spent a lot of time and a bit of money buying five or so books for a game system that I haven't played in six or seven years, that I very likely will never play again. (unless Chris gets me into his 4th edition Champions game.)

I know, Vince. It is fun! I got hooked on it too. I think sort of because of you a little! I used to love finding books for you at the Missoula Book Exchange. It is fun, but ultimately I wound up buying a bunch of crap I never read! I only keep it thinking that Pablo or Mathilde might like it.
