A Big List of EN World Quotes...

Words of wisdom by Col Pladoh:
Rashness and foolhardiness are harbingers of death, as is timidity, in such adventure setting.
Those that complain about real challenges might be better off playing Candyland with their little sister
First and foremost, munchkinism arose as a contemporary of the OD&D game. Nothing in the rules of that or any other version of the game was needed to make it flourish.

So, do warlocks know what evil lurks in the hearts of men?=Slife
A competent warlock would not only know, but would be the reason the evil was lurking there in the first place =Lanefan

"Githyankees Suck!"-Piratecat

"Hastur showed up and stomped on the inn killing everyone. I don't ever recall being so happy but sadly in a game like this death is fleeting, only trauma and humilation endure." - Ab3

"Spiders in the house are good luck. Killing them just means they get the ghost template slapped on them, and then where will you be? They'll start spinning webs inside your head, that's where you'll be."

Set him on fire, and he's warm for the rest of his life.

[sblock=From the worst module ever]Quote:A group of seven men approaches. They are following the road east, and are making good time, neither tarrying nor running. Their faces are expressionless. One is dressed as a cleric of some sort, and another is dressed as a traveling drummer. The others could be peasants or serfs going from one location to another for the harvest season. Each carries some sort of weapon. It is plain that they are not soldiers by their haphazard way of walking. They do not seem to be joking loudly or singing as they advance.

They neither have sombreros nor stilts. These men are not acrobats. They have no expression as they don't dally to the west.[/sblock]

"Good, remember that when next we meet. For I have marked you loudmouth and my axe knows the name of your spirit. ~ Druss the Legend the Silver Slayer

"I already have a place where I can get little recognition for my accomplishments, advance at a very slow pace, and have to work hard to eek out minimum rewards for my efforts. It's called work." - toberane.

There was a discussion going on in the rules forum about someone who said that attacks by ranged weapons provoked AoOs (i.e., that the rules say you are able, by default, to cut a rock out of the air as it passes by you to hit your friend).

I asked, if that were the case, would the same rock provoke an AoO if we attached it to the end of a stick. He said no, because then the guy swinging the rock on the stick would be adjacent, and ranged attacks wouldn't provoke AoOs if they were making the equivalent of 5-foot steps.

I said, "But what if it's a really long stick?"

He responded with my .sig: "A rock on a stick has a 5' reach unless otherwise specified." :D

Then there's my current title: "Torch-Carrying Meat-Snack."

Not all that long ago, someone was discussing the differences between 3E and "classic" D&D parties, and referred to the hordes of shieldbearers, torchbearers, porters, and other assorted hirelings that used to accompany D&D adventurers by that term.

It stuck. :)

I am sickened beyond belief. The half-orc wizard is obviously the best possible PC, and I only had to read 10 pages of the book to figure it out. D&D is dead to me! -- Mike Mearls
FWIW, I'm on the design team and I pretty much find WoW as fun and interesting as banging my head against a brick wall. -- Mike Mearls
