A Clash of Earth and Sea (El Jefe Judging) [See Part II]

Iggy

"Zach, I want to have a look at the bottom of the canoe. If it is put here by the mermen, it may have a pattern on the bottom they could recognize."

Zack raises an eyebrow at Iggy, but complies.

OoC: It's not capsizing when it's not in the water? And here I thought it was already rigth-side up. Teaches me to read more carefully before replying :)

"Iggy, you can't go out there, it could be dangerous!" Sara says firmly. She takes off her chain shirt and straps the swords back on over her tunic. "I'll go out, with any luck that fish thingie will attack us...."

Iggy is dissapointed at the apparent lack of signal the canoe would give to mermen. He watches Sara climb aboard, without her armor. He thinks of the large shape underwater, and his own experience trying to fight a dragon underwater.

"I don't think we should go out there. It's just too dangerous, and we don't even know if we could accomplish anything. We're not water fighters. If you got in trouble out there, we couldn't help. Let's keep walking around the lake. There are almost always settlements on lakes. If I were a merman, I'd establish a relationship with the local surface-dwellers. Surely if we can find a village, they can help us find the mermen."

"Are you sure? This would be faster."

The canoe certainly appears to be geared toward surface dwellers, and it may very well be the property of some nearby humanoids rather than any device of the merfolk. It occurs to you that stealing someone's fishing boat might be taken amiss...

Iggy looks unconvinced. Charlarn says, "Alright. We'll do it your way. Let's continue around the lake."

OOC: I'm going out of town Friday through Monday, so I'll be incommunicado then.
