A couple new weapon abilities...

I like the idea of this effect. Out of curiosity I figured what it would cost to create a sword with a constant effect Bless WEapon spell. If my math is right, by 3.5, it would be +16,000 to the cost (4th level Paladin x 1st level spell x 2000 x 2 for min/lvl spell). Granted, one can't really use those examples for weapons but thought I might bring it up.

Required Spells: Align Weapon and Keen Edge.

Personally, I'd rather see an effect like doubled threat range against the opposite alignment.

Ooh! That's a good idea! I'll whip something up later this morning. Thanks!

The effect of confirmed crits when dealing with weapons with Burst enchantments, Sharpness, and Vorpal effects can lead to instant abuse.

Not the way I've written these up.

Name for a Chaotic Weapon? Why not just call it Chaotic? In many games, its Chaos vs Order...so it's not out of line.

Actually, Seeker95 over on the WotC boards came up with a great name...Entropic. I love it.

A 4th-level Paladin is a 2nd-level caster, not a 4th. Also, you forgot to apply the non-similar power price modifier. It would look like this: 1 (spell level) x 2 (caster level) x 2000 x 2 (min/level) x 1.5 (nonsimilar power) = 12,000 gp.

I'd already considered it, but thanks. :)

Here are the finals! I decided to just go with align weapon, but for those that liked bless and bane for the good and evil variants, just replace "Faint transmutation [alignment]" with "Faint enchantment", and replace the spell, of course.

Blessed
A blessed weapon is good-aligned, meaning it can bypass the damage reduction of certain creatures. Up to 5 points of damage reduction can be bypassed with this weapon. In addition, all critical hit rolls against evil-aligned foes automatically succeed, so every threat is a critical hit. This last effect does not stack with any magical effects related to critical hits (such as flaming burst, keen, and vorpal). It bestows one negative level on any evil creature attempting to wield it. The negative level remains as long as the weapon is in hand and disappears when the weapon is no longer wielded. This negative level never results in actual level loss, but it cannot be overcome in any way (including restoration spells) while the weapon is wielded. Bows, crossbows, and slings so crafted bestow the blessed power upon their ammunition.
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspFaint transmutation [good]; CL 5th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, align weapon; Price: +1 bonus.

Blessed v2
A blessed weapon is mildly good-aligned. Though this does not allow it to bypass the damage reduction of evil-aligned creatures, the weapon deals an extra 1d6 points of damage against all of evil alignment.

Defiled
A defiled weapon is evil-aligned, meaning it can bypass the damage reduction of certain creatures. Up to 5 points of damage reduction can be bypassed with this weapon. In addition, all critical hit rolls against good-aligned foes automatically succeed, so every threat is a critical hit. This last effect does not stack with any magical effects related to critical hits (such as flaming burst, keen, and vorpal). It bestows one negative level on any good creature attempting to wield it. &nbsp&nbsp&nbspFaint transmutation [evil]; CL 5th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, align weapon; Price: +1 bonus.

Ordered
An ordered weapon is law-aligned, meaning it can bypass the damage reduction of certain creatures. Up to 5 points of damage reduction can be bypassed with this weapon. In addition, all critical hit rolls against chaotic-aligned foes automatically succeed, so every threat is a critical hit. This last effect does not stack with any magical effects related to critical hits (such as flaming burst, keen, and vorpal). It bestows one negative level on any chaotic creature attempting to wield it. The negative level remains as long as the weapon is in hand and disappears when the weapon is no longer wielded. This negative level never results in actual level loss, but it cannot be overcome in any way (including restoration spells) while the weapon is wielded. Bows, crossbows, and slings so crafted bestow the ordered power upon their ammunition.
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspFaint transmutation [lawful]; CL 5th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, align weapon; Price: +1 bonus.

Ordered v2
An ordered weapon is mildly law-aligned. Though this does not allow it to bypass the damage reduction of chaotic-aligned creatures, the weapon deals an extra 1d6 points of damage against all of chaotic alignment. &nbsp&nbsp&nbspFaint transmutation [lawful]; CL 5th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, align weapon; Price: +1 bonus.

Entropic
An entropic weapon is chaos-aligned, meaning it can bypass the damage reduction of certain creatures. Up to 5 points of damage reduction can be bypassed with this weapon. In addition, all critical hit rolls against lawful-aligned foes automatically succeed, so every threat is a critical hit. Bows, crossbows, and slings so crafted bestow the entropic power upon their ammunition.
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspFaint transmutation [chaotic]; CL 5th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, align weapon; Price: +1 bonus.

Entropic v2

Thanks to everyone that helped!
