A couple of feats for dragons, and a small request.

I think the half-dragon counts as a 'young' dragon, at least based on breath weapon damage and DC. Which is category 3.

I was wondering when that question was going to come up... But yes, since the template clearly states that the base creatures type changes to dragon. Note that all half dragons have only one age category.

that's cuz they're only half-dragons. :D

Ace: the breathweapon has nothing to do with it, they still only have one age category, much like Wyverns, Drakes, Pseudodragons, and the Dragon Turtle.

I think I will, and I might add a few new ones as well.

On the topic of which, I have some new info regarding the new SR calculations for dragons: As of 3.5, a dragons SR is equal to it's CR+6. Note however, that in some books (such as in the BoVD) there are feats that allow a creature to improve their SR.

Steelscale (Dragon)
Prerequisites: Dragon, Con 17+, Toughness
Effect: The dragons natural armor increases by +2. In addition, if the dragon has damage reduction, the amount of damage ignored is increased by +5 (For example a dragon with DR: 10/+1, is changed to DR: 15/+1 with this feat.)

Note that the 3.5e MM has a Feat called Improved Natural Armor, which grants an unnamed +1 bonus to a monster's Natural Armor. Your Feat is clearly more powerful.

I'd scale this one back. Ouch, that wasn't intended, but I'll leave it.

Mind Reader (Dragon)
Due to its strong psyche the dragon has the ability to communicate with and read other creatures minds.
Prerequisites: Dragon, Wis 15+, Int 15+

Suggestion: require seriously high ranks in Sense Motive, Spot, Listen and Diplomacy. That way you can make this a non-magical power, much like Blindsense.

Augment Breathweapon (Dragon)
The dragons breathweapon deals more damage.
Prerequisite: Dragon, Breathweapon, Con 19+
Benefit: The damage dice of the dragons breathweapon is increase one step to a maximum of d12. (Example: An adult green dragons breathweapon damage would increase from 12d6 to 12d8).

I mostly like this one. IMHO it's best suited to Half-Dragons, who need to improve their breath weapons significantly.

It gets very powerful when you also have Feats which increase the number of dice that a breath weapon does. Hmm, requires thought. Personally, I'm considering some equivalents to Metamagic Feats for Breath Weapons -- for example, Extend Breath Weapon (like Widen Spell, but 3/day).

Nifft: Those feats are about two years old, as I said, I will revise them to 3.5, and add a few more. Also, the mind reader feat is supposed to be supernatural, it give the dragon telepathy ;)

And I am considering metabreath feats, but instead of being useable a specific number of times per day, they will increase the time between each use of the breathweapon (such as instead of taking 1d4 rounds before the breathweapon can be used again, it will take 1d4+X rounds, where X is a number mentioned in the feat.
