a couple os questions

I lost my pdf of the PHB and I can't recall two things.
1- when you attack with...let's say a long sword, can you chose between inflicting lethal damage or subdual?
2-my fighter has both cleave and GR Cleave. when I kill an opponent and I strike with the bonus attack. do I have to use the exact same attack roll and damage roll against the next opponent? (f.e I roll a 22 on my first attack roll and score a 11 on my damage roll, which kills the first opponent. When I attack the second one, do I use the same 22 for my attack roll and the 11 damage?)
3-my fighter has 2 b.a +9 /+4. let's say I kill the enemy on the second strike. when I attack the next one thx to Cleave, do I use both my b.a or do I strike only once?

I'm trying to recover my PHB back along with the DM GUIDE and a few other books. I hate my pc...

btw, we're using 3.5

1 - All weapons are meant to deal lethal damage. If you wish to do nonlethal, you need to take a -4 penalty to your attack, unless you have a class feature which allows for nonlethal damage.

2 - For Cleave attacks you make one single attack roll, ie. you roll the dice and add your attack bonus. So no, you do not re-use the attack and damage of the attack that killed the opponent previously.

3 - A cleave attack only allows for 1 attack, regardless of how many you get due to high BAB.

Hope that helps :)

You know, you could have left out the "pdf of the" part, so you didn't openly admit of possessing illegal material... :p

There's nothing illegal about possessing a .pdf copy of the PHB. For one thing, legal .pdf's have been distributed, and for another thing, if you bought a paper copy legitimately, it's perfectly lawful to scan it.

In both cases, he would still have access to his original: If he loses his distributed PDF, he can download it again (and I think I remember that though they want to put out most of their books as pdf, they won't include the core rules). If he loses his scanned PDF, he can still look it up in his treeware PHB.
