When has 6th level been considered Tier 1?View attachment 251664
It would even put you on par with other classes that need to make hard choices with their ASI selections & not fill out 20+relevant combat feats till 8 or 12+

When has 6th level been considered Tier 1?
But the situation doesn't change course without a roll of a die either by the DM or a player.
That's just plain unnecessary IMHO. Even if you have a high Charisma, a lot of random people are just going hate you for whatever reason (d20 linear distribution, etc.).I've seen DM's ask for Charisma checks for just about any interaction with NPC's, even "see if NPC is impressed by you". Once, this was even a group Charisma check because everyone was talking in a scene.
In a case like that, I can see the "low Charisma, no roleplaying" thing happening.
However, I will admit that in many cases, this is a self-fulfilling prophecy; a player who doesn't really want to rp will give themselves low Charisma.
Don't most players have the option of setting their Charisma score before they even choose their class? Also, you get an ASI at level 4. That's tier 1.When has 6th level been considered Tier 1?
The paladin, ranger, artificer, even the friggin Valor bard also gets extra attack. On top of abilities in multiple pillars. On top of spells. On top of more more more. An extra action a couple times a day is woefully inadequate.View attachment 251670
Like it or not the base class chassis does not provide room for what you want in 1-5 because the earlier kevels are filled with extremely powerful abilities like action surge & extra attack.
The level 3 fighter archetype feature is almost always some form of combat feature further squeezing out room for noncombat features. Shy of simply expecting 3.x unearthed arcana gestalt style broken feature pileon what are you prepared to shed to gain what you are wanting?
Y'all know that roleplaying isn't a pillar of play, right?
Roleplaying is expected in every pillar of play. It doesn't make up for the Fighter not having any unique abilities within either the social or exploration pillars.
They also get a very different selection of hit dice proficiencies & abilities at level 1 & 2 when fighter are getting all weapons d10 hit die all armor & a short rest pegged action surge/second wind & so on. None of the classes you mentioned gets a third or fourth attack extra attack though. The poster I was responding to in the post you quoted was lamenting the fact that the level 6 fighter ASI is not in tier1 (the level 4 fighter ASI is as someone noted). The paladin, ranger, artificer, even the friggin Valor bard also gets extra attack. On top of abilities in multiple pillars. On top of spells. On top of more more more. An extra action a couple times a day is woefully inadequate.

If you envision a diplomat that's also a warrior, you have options. Obviously, you shouldn't expect a diplomat to be as effective in combat as a brute (because of choices), but you can choose the option.
I've stated multiple times that a small boost so they have something, anything. Barbarians got it. It was bizarre to not do the same for Fighters.View attachment 251670
