Does anyone remember the name of the male spider character in the 2nd(?) book? Also, I believe I saw somewhere that there is a ninth book coming out----didn't realize there was that many

Sorry, can't remember character's name, but after the 6th book Jon-Tom & Mudge retire, and their children (otter twins & jon-tom's son) take up the adventuring lifestyle. I think the first of their books is called "Chorus Skating".

Avoid the later books like the plague. ADF succumbed to a bout of Anthonyitis (a terrible, chronic disease that causes an author to extend a series after it has, or should have, ended) when he picked up again after Time of the Transference.
