A d20 NPC Wiki?

Someone should already begin an indexing section of the wiki to make finding the right kind of npc easier.
Or a section be added to the stat bloc for keywords to make searching for particular kinds of npc's easier.

What do you have in mind, apart from the index page?

I was thinking multiple indexes. Maybe one by race, another by class, another by affiliation (when warrented), another by trade profession, etc. (there could be many more methods of sorting)

Just different ways of locating 'just the right' npc for the occasion. Thoughts of good indexing should be a priority before the quantity of material becomes very hard to sort.

My next post had another idea to help the locating of the right npc for the occasion... a section of keywords. This may be an easier method for good search criteria than actively creating multiple indexes.

I think all stat blocks should be summited in the new format. I only propose this to minimize any re-formatting that might be necessary later in the development of this project.

Although, don't try to implement every little fad change that comes out. Make a once per year (at most) format change, and do so by following what is current at that time.

I only say this because I hate re-doing work.

I don't think anything needs to be redone so much as possibly added on. I may go through and add compact stat blocks to my entries, or add "new" stat blocks to some of the other entries, those I'm most likely to use. It's not an either/or proposition.

Cheers
Nell.

Well, I created an "Additional indices" page. Feel free to add any you think are appropriate.

Joiner

Hello to all,

I've added a few monsters from a recent adventure: an Ogre Druid, an Ogre Half-Red Dragon, an Ogre Dire Werebat, and an Ogre Barbarian. I hope to contribute more.

I've added a brief note in the Mutants & Mastermind index asking creators to note which edition of the game was used to make the character. M&M 2nd edition is coming out in September and will be a major change -- I have a preview edition as a Superlink author. The characters are very different, and I'm a little worried about posting obsolete material. I figured, rather than ban 1st edition characters, perhaps the edition could just be clearly posted.

Cheers,
JT

Well, since 2nd Edition is not out yet, the question remains academic for the time being...

Returning to d20 NPCs, what I am missing at the moment are some more human NPCs. All those hobgoblins are great, but let's have some more racial diversity, shall we? ;)

You want us to just post humans because it'd be more diverse? ;)

Cheers

Question

What about posting original monsters/creatures? I'm thinking of a "mad dwarf" NPC right now that is in no way built up via existing templates or anything, but still might be interesting to someone. So I wonder, is there room in the wiki for "new critters"?

Well, mostly because I could really use some human NPCs for my city-based adventures right now. :D

But there are only seven human NPCs so far (if you don't count the ones for d20 Modern), and some more would help to provide adequate foes for the Hobgoblin Hordes... ;)
