A Dice and paper organizer!

Ah, thanks, Diablo. I thought myself a nutcase cause I need two bags for my dice (a couple of hundred dice, gotta count them some time) and my 500 odd minis. But then you come and tell of whole storerooms full of the buggers and I can think of myself as normal again ;-)

(that is if I'm not overcome by envy and try to outcollect you :D)

Main area, clipboard to attach character sheet. Underneath could be storage for said character sheets so when packing away in backpack they don't get folded, creased, etc.
I've started using a half-sheet clipboard, with my custom 1/2 page character sheets. I find it easier to flip to different pages for different info than to take up a lot of room with the character sheet.

Thus, such a device might fit into your design specs. A 6"x9" clipboard top hinged to the dice box inside. Perhaps some plastic clamps inside to hold pencils (3 diagonally on the back of the lid). Lid must have a sturdy clasp to avoid dice spillage.

The only reason I was thinking of the dice box as a type of "drawer" that pulled out to the side, is I often have to look at my character sheet. Thus if I have to flip it up and then back again is not a productive.

Also being a pull out drawer I can go several sessions without needing to roll a single die.

The Calculator, though nice is not required, but more of a wish list type.

Organizer

God bless ye lad, I've been trying to think about something similar.

My suggestions, I need several compartments for dice, big enough for about 7 dice or so. I would make 6 compartments, or perhaps 7 with the last one being large enough for over-sized or novelty dice.

I would definately like to have some horizontal paper holders, one for adventure notes, one for handouts and such, another for extra materials and campaign specific things.

We've had mentions of clipboards and books. What about a stand with wooden dividers about the width of a D&D core rulebook and a groove for putting a clipboard in.

A compartment for putting in minis I intend to use that session would be a plus.

Of course, there needs to be some decoration. I'm partial to celtic knots myself.
