Borrowing (ok stealing) an idea from the Pimp My Lich thread, I had a lich confront the party after gating in a balor. That thread did say use Time Stop to gate in the balor, while I did the Time Stop after the balor died.
The party is pretty weakened right now after the balor's death throes, but then the lich cast "Time Stop" and put all but one person in the party in two force cages. The group sorcerer can't do jack about the force cages, as he does not own Disintergrate. However, the psion does. He is inside one force cage, while the melee types of the party are in another. Due to their locations, both force cages are the barred variety.
The cages are about 10 feet apart and not touching.
Would the psion be able to cast "Disintegrate" to hit the other forcecage & release the melee types first? Would the psion's forcecage be considered "cover" for the other?
Thanks
