A farewell

There aren't really words for this. I'll do my best though...

A friend of mine, the brother of one of my closest friends, and a member of our gaming group hung himself two days ago.

Doctors did their best to try and save him, but he died earlier today.

There's really nothing to say at a time like this. This topic is a farewell to him.

He'll be remembered forever.

My condolences as well. I know what it's like to lose a very close friend. I lost a very dear friend to suicide in February of this year who I introduced to gaming.

Well I hope it doesn't affect your game, as the loss of our DM to a car accident 10 years ago did to our group - we stopped playing RPGs for about 5 years. We still played cards and other games, but D&D became a problem for some of our players due to the loss. We're back at it, of course, but it had affected our game for a while.

In the end, the daughter of that GM of ours who died, growing up and joining our group with one of her friends that got us playing again - I just hope you don't have to go through that.

This is just so tragic. Condolences to your group and families.

And doubly tragic because it happens all too often. A dear member of our group committed suicide Oct 11 last year; it has been a very difficult thing for everyone involved to deal with. Honour him as best you can.
