Last question first: Modules don't make money. Or at least as much money as the hardbound books they release.

The first picture is the second edition players handbook. The other two are the first edition players handbook, they just have different covers. I'm pretty sure the cointent on those are the same.

Do you need to know the differences between first and second edition?

I know the difference between 1st and 2nd edition, i was just confused because the first one doesnt say 2nd edition anywhere. Thanks for the info. :D

Yeah, the picture of the 2nd edition PHB doesn't say "2nd edition" becuase it was the repritning of the 2E books. Originally all the 2E stuff said "AD&D 2nd edition" in the logo, but when they reprinted, TSR decided that since this was the ONLY edition of AD&D that they were putting out, they didn't need to specify the 2nd edition part anymore. Just like with 3rd edition, they dropped the "Advanced D&D" title, since there was no longer a "basic" D&D for 3rd edition to be more advanced than.

Looking back on it now, that's just way more complicated than it ever needed to be...
