A few spell/magic questions

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

1) Will Detect Magic detect the presence of a hidden magical trap? Or does only "active" magic register? For instance, if a chest has a Fire Trap on it, would Detect Magic note that magic was operative on the chest without otherwise tampering with it?

2) Kelgore's Fire Bolt (PHB2) is not described as a ray, nor is it explicitly described as unerringly hitting like Magic Missile. Does it require a touch attack to hit? Is that generally the case for all non-Magic Missile, non-area effect attack spells?

3) If a wizard takes another class that adds a level to spellcasting (such as a PrC or, in this case, Elf Paragon from UA), does he get to add 2 spells to his spellbook as well, or is that benefit a bonus only for the Wizard class specifically?

1) Detect Magic detects magical traps - active or not. There is this one spell to mask magical auras which is the only way I can think of to foil detect magic.

3) I think this point is not entirely clear but I would say the character gets two spells if he advances in a PrC or paragon class.

2) Kelgore's Fire Bolt has a target of "one creature", which means that you just designate an enemy for the bolt to hit. You don't roll to hit, but he rolls a reflex save to avoid.

3) The standard text about it says they get "spells known, if applicable". This means that wizards get new spells, just as sorcerors and clerics do. (It is a little unfortunate that they have choosen the expression used for spontaneous spellcasters.)
