The video was funny. It would be nice if everyone had that attitude. I will gladly play with any mechanics if I like the people.

Too bad the entire gamer population doesn't feel that way.

Tom Lommel is an awesome and funny guy, I first heard of him in the Monte Cook Arcana Unearthed days over on Monte's site. Time to check out his back-catalog! :)

For a one-shot? Probably. I'll even play Risk if I'm hanging out with decent folk.

For a long-term campaign? Nah. Life's too short. And I don't suffer under the fallacy that my friends and I need to do everything together. Spending hundreds of hours playing a game I don't like doesn't sound like a good use of my time.

The mechanics are really only important to me if I'm running the game, for a one shot or a campaign. If all I have to do is play my character then its all good with decent company and good campaign content. :)

If I had refused to play in any campaigns that didn't feature my favorite systems then I would have missed out on some great gaming experiences that I wouldn't trade for anything.

Heck, these days about the only time I do anything with friends is when we game. Its just a matter of busy schedules and available time.
