Stats for Mr. Ed.
Mr. Ed
No one is quite sure how this animal came to be. Perhaps a druid and a nature-wizard got together for an extended prank on the local farmers. Whatever the reason. Mr. Ed is here to stay, giving advice to stupid humans, typically named Wilbur or munchkins with no sense. Whichever comes first.

Mr. Ed understands any language because a crazy wizard cast Comprehend languages and Permanacy on him. A deity with a weird sense of humor gave Mr. Ed immortality so he can give advice to more humans throughout the ages.

While conceivably off-topic enough to belong in General, it might also be on-topic enough to belong in Rogue's Gallery.

Besides, I always found Mr. Ed to be rather roguish in how he treated Wilbur.

exactly.

exactly.
which is why that god with the weird sense of humor granted Mr. Ed immortality. To drive humanoids to distraction. Oh. I forgot. Mr. Ed will only talk to one person (his chosen 'owner') at a time.

^_^

i thought it was pretty funny myself. it just came to me, as i do have a tendancy to create munchkin characters that will never see the light of an adventure. mostly thru an imperfect understanding of the 3e rules. it's like subdual-what?

Ok, since I'm an@l like that, and because I just just posted a new Awakened Anima thread to sort out how this spell works exactly, here's what I would consider to be the most official 3.5 "awakened light horse" version of Mr. Ed:

Mr. Ed cannot fight while carrying a rider.

Carrying Capacity: A light load for Mr. Ed is up to 150 pounds; a medium load, 151–300 pounds; and a heavy load, 301–450 pounds. Mr. Ed can drag 2,250 pounds.

Note that Mr. Ed speaks at least one language known by the caster of the Awaken spell - no need for a Permanencied Comprehend Languages spell.
