Watched it last night and quite enjoyed it. The characters are fun, the acting is good and the visuals great, the world is consistent with the one we know, and the stakes high enough without being epic.

wow, I completely blanked on that part of the novellas. No citations needed - I believe you, but I did not remember any pooping at all. I remember the main books making a big deal of peeing, but that was mostly when Arya was trying to maintain her secret.

That scene was not actually in the stories, it was added for the show.

George R.R. Martin is overall pretty happy with the adaptation so far . . . but has expressed he was not happy with the addition of that scene. His response was basically, "Why? Why do we need that?"

I could have done without it but it certainly emphasizes how undignified the life of a hedge knight can be.

I have read the books and they've changed a few things. It's too early to really judge it but I definitely don't like how they took away the ambiguity of Dunk's knighthood.

I think it's still pretty ambiguous. He's talking about something that we haven't seen, either because it didn't happen, or because we haven't seen it in a flashback yet.
