A LG, LN, or NG Rogue?

There you go again. I think the definitions are clear enough as written in the rules.

Yes, to each their own...

But... ;)

What I quoted in my last post are the guidelines as taken directly out of the PHB. Sorry for the confusion.

'Good in DnD is "altruism, respect for life, and a concern for the dignity of human beings." just as Law is "honor, trustworthiness, obedience to authority and reliability."' ---PHB pg.88

I think that defining it beyond what it says in the books is not wise because it leads someone to shoehorn situations into predetermined concepts with a limited number of circumstances. My approach is to wait for the circumstances and then deal with each situation on its own merits.

You have just defined the difference between law and chaos. You rock. You (chaos) keep options open. "Definers" (law) limit options.

"Limited shoehorn situations into predetermined concepts with a limited number of circumstances" is exactly what I have been trying to show. This is a lawful trait. This is what law in DnD is about.

This is the fundamental difference between a lawful and a chaotic alignment. A lawfully-aligned character actively makes these situations and a chaotic-minded character avoids them like the plague. A character with the lawful alignment should breed these situations like rabbits. Read my post about the LG Solar and sleight of hand. Isn't that a nifty "shoehorn situation?" :)
