A little honesty and request for advice..

I saw a post asking why a bookstore put their DnD books behind the counter, and most people agreed it was probably theft-related.

I bought the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book a long time ago. Well, during a move, I lost the big map to it. Being rather upset, I tried to find a replacement map with no luck. I'll be honest, there was a time or two where the thought entered my mind to gank one of said maps deftly into my backpack or toss it in with another book I was buying.

I'm human, I do suffer temptation. I mean, why should I have to pay another $30 just to get ONE MAP?! Still, I resisted the urge. It's kinda against my religion and morals to steal, so I didn't do it, obviously. That's neither here nor there. The question is, where can I find a replacement map? I don't have a printer, and I'm not computer/tech savvy at all. I just want to be able to go some place and say "I need to buy a Forgotten Realms map, like the kind in the back of the book" and pay for it and leave. Sadly, no one has any or knows where to get one!!!!

I'm hoping you, the online community, can aid me in my quest to find another FRCS map.

WotC customer support has been known to send out replacement maps in the past, but I don't know if they have any left.

Just off the top of my head, have you tried contacting WOTC's customer service people? I don't know if they'll be able to help, but it's where I'd start.

I don't have an extra, but it looks like Xath already has the hook up for you. I just wanted to say you made the right decision in the long run. Theft just would have ripped someone else off when they went to pick up the book and found it missing the map. Might mean waiting for things sometimes but you will probably feel better about yourself in the end.

You could contact Paizo and see if they have copies of their big multi-panel map of the Realms. It's even better than the one in the FRCS.
