A little something from the sketchbook

Started this last night and finished it up this morning. I'm not really crazy about the background, but I needed a neutral color around him so I wouldn't have to draw an outline around him.

He was sketched with a non-repro blue Prismacolor pencil and 99% inked with a Pitt brush pen; I filled in the big blacks with a bit of Speedball ink and a cheap brush.

Wow! That is absolutely terrific.

When I was in high school and took art classes, Prismacolor was my favorite method.

Thanks!

I love sketching with my regular Prismacolors, but when I'm working on something I know I'm going to ink (like this one), I've got a whole mess of the Prismacolor Copy-Not Non-Photo Blue pencils. Their harder than regular Prismas, so they don't have that smooth feel, but they're great for preliminary sketching.
