I don't understand the need to have anime in live action at all. For me, anime and live action are even MORE different than movies and books. It just doesn't work.

Animation has conventions and things that are PERFECT for it...but nearly ALL of them fail horribly in live action. Besides, the best part about anime is that it looks good in motion. Take stills and it just loses the feel...put it to live action and you lose everything.

Um yes it is. Take a closer look at the humaniod form of Devilman, that is a live person. Devilman and the demon female are CGI. The city is a live place.
I'll take your word for it. If that is indeed the case, the special effects are utterly awful.

Live action sequences derived from Ghost in the Shell, mecha cartoons, and Dragonball Z certainly worked well enough in the Matrix films.

Depends on how you look at it. The Matrix films were still thier own films in the end, while if you're actually getting a "Live Action Anime" movie, its just...different. Funny, I can't believe I forgot to comment on hair before. ;)

What can I say other than I'd rather see animation left as animation. I find it to be equal to, if not better in some respects, as live action. Of course...my attatchment to art has me a little biased.
