A MONSTER Tome

I doubt I would buy it. I mean I have a majority of those books and such and since I don't use them on a regular basis I doubt I would get 75 bucks worth of value out of it.

For $75, yeah, it's be a deal.

Never happen though. Monster Manual I is already 3.5 as is the Monster Manual III and MM II and Fiend Folio already have updates out while Monsters of Faerun is getting a lot of it's besties updated in the new FR sourcebook.

That would make it a 3000-page book! For $75, of course I'd go for it!

(Although the shipping costs would make the actual price climb to $450...)

I'm not a fan of monsters books, but one big creature encyclopaedia doesn't sound bad at all.

It would be harder to bring around, but easier to consult than separate books.

Perhaps with 1000s of pages it could better fit a format of 2-3 smaller books organized alphabetically (like normal encyclopaedia, A-I J-Q R-Z), in which case it would however lose some appeal. But more than 1000 pages I doubt it could keep the binding intact for long...

Actually, if it was really the complete book you're thinking, but split into volumes each of which contains aphabetically orderer TYPES of creatures, I'd like it more. Such as 4-5 volumes:
1. humanoids, monstrous humanoids, feys and giants
2. animals, vermins, magical beasts and dragons
3. plants, oozes and aberrations
4. undead and constructs
5. outsiders and elementals
This would be quite handy to bring around also, at least if you don't expect to have lost of different monsters in the session.

I always find http://www.enworld.org/forumdisplay.php?f=26 has a wonderfule selection. ;)

As far as way book are put together the Iron Kindoms Montericom is about the best.
I agree, except that there's no "creatures by CR" chart, which bothers me.

I love everything else about that book (I guess I also wish it were updated to 3.5) but not being able to easily find a bunch of Iron Kingdoms creatures in the CR range I am looking for at a glance is annoying.

Quick Hijack - where would one find the MMII and FF 3.5 updates?

Thanks!

I think I'd prefer this to the encyclopedia organized by type.

It is the best monster book out there, but WOTC would never touch it, which is why I never brought it up.
