D&D 5E A mounted Ranger can use his natural explorer ability?

Of course. Haven't you ever seen The Man From Snowy River?

I don't think any of those work the way I assume some posters expect them to.
Aye, many examples won't work by the rules, but I would still rule they do.

That ranger question is a prime example of why. If the ranger player wants to be mounted, I'm not going to punish him by making his class features unavailable. I want to find a way to stretch his features to encompass his mount. As I said earlier, I can easily picture the ranger picking a path and guiding his mount like it was an extension of himself.

The rogue's cunning action is the same.

The tabaxi's increased speed probably wouldn't apply to the mount since it seems to be very much about the catman physical ability, and I can't think of even the barest excuse to transfer it to the mount (although, all I know about the feature is what's written in this thread) .

Again, I feel if I'm making class features unavailable while mounted, then I feel like I'm punishing my players when they try playing mounted. So I don't care what the rules explicitly say, I care about their spirit

I'm just commenting on the RAW as I see them. If you want to houserule something else, that's your right, although I don't like the idea of Rogues' cunning action working for mounts especially, because why should they have the fastest mounts? It's very unroguish, IMO.

I get that. I just felt that you didn't notice I had earlier said I wasn't talking about a ztrict interpretation. And I decided to use the opportunity to expand my view, and make it more clear that those looking for a strict interpretation won't find it from me.

As for the rogue's cunninv action making a mount faster, I can agree with you, and were you a player at my table I'd listen to you, and maybe limit using it in a way that models maneuvering around the battlefield and prevent its use as a sprint. Because I don't feel that using a bonus action Dash has to model the rogue (or his mount) moving faster; it can model moving more tactically, performing a stunt, or whatever else I might transfer to the mount.
