A New Hope Returns to Theaters in 2027 for 50th Anniversary Celebration

IT looks like it's coming back to the big screen, but who knows which print it will be.

Will it be the one your inner child saw way back in the 70s or will be the one from the 90s that others grew up with?

The version I saw in theater as a kid was before it was called Episode IV - A New Hope, which was apparently added in 1981, so it's almost definitely not going to be the one from the 1970s.

I would guess it'll just be the special edition again, maybe remastered (again).

Empire was the first one I got to see in a theatre - I was only 5 when the original came out.

However, back when I was doing Rocky Horror, the owner of one of the theatres where we performed was an FoC (friend of cast), and one day he rented a print of A New Hope and played it solely for the cast and a few select friends.
We were cracking jokes and yelling callback likes the entire time.

They are not even going to roll out more garbage to milk the franchise this time? How many more movies are going to want to do this? Too bad we missed Chinatown last year.
