A Politician Prestige Class?

Hello,

I am playing in a 3.5 campaign right now where our wizard is an enchanter who is currently a business man and is interested in perhaps going the political route with a prestige class. He's asked me to help either find a politician prestige class (or something along the lines of bluffing, and changing people's attitudes) or come up with one for him.

Knowing this is the best place to start, I was wondering if anyone here could recommend a good source of classes/feats for this type of character progression or if anyone has any ideas on what powers/abilities and progression type this sort of prestige class should have.

Uh... Rokugan by AEG has a Courtier class (NOT Prestige Class). Of course, it's Oriental flavored, and it's not a very good idea to buy a Setting solely for this, but maybe you know someone who has it...

I think the class you're looking for is "Bard".

You have ranks in perform (speeches) and all the social skills you could possibly want.

Dynasties and Demagogues has a fairly neat Politician prestige class. Most of the abilities are in the form of special bonuses to diplomacy and sense motive and the like under special circumstances, but there's also an interesting ability to create bargains that the other side would have to succeed at a will save to break, and at 10th level, the 'Aura of Power' ability - any character that can see or hear her must succeed at a DC 25 + charisma modifier will save in order to voice a disagreement with her or disobey her direct commands while in her presence. (A mind-affecting ability that's always 'on')

And Babylon5 has the Diplomat core class.

Mindbender might be useful depending on what he wants. Also in Book of Exalted Deeds there is a diplomat PRC, Emmisary of Barachiel . But you have to be good to take it. Here is an interesting thread on a minmaxed diplomacy expert.
