A question for all the grognards! Help me pick a classic module.

Restormel from Judges Guild is a cool, creepy little scenario that isn't about dungeon crawling. It centers around a village terrorized by weird nocturnal humanoids, who turn out to be degenerate humans who fled underground from some barbarians hundreds of years ago. There is no plot, but it is very easy to create one. Cover.

From the TSR range, Secret of Bone Hill is your friend. Also light on dungeon crawls, it has several adventure opportunities. Plus you can usually get it cheap.

For Basic D&D, I think B10 ("Night's Dark Terror") is perhaps the best module ever written. It is a mini-campaign that can last for months, and has everything you could want in a D&D module -- plus an amazing, truly 'Cthulhu-esqu' ending.

I agree. Hands-down the best of the basic series. Plus it has mini side adventures depending on the PC's special interest. Fearful lows, dizzying highs, and hold-on-to-your-undies curves - 64 pages of roller coster ride.
