A question for those who play kobolds, orcs, or whatever

Maybe he's more of a Blackguard as core class. He does call himself a paladin, though. I don't know. He has paladin like abilities, he wears full plate and carries a lance, he charges around on a dire lizard mount, and he claims to be a paladin, but he's a follower of Kurtlmak. I try not to ask too many rules questions, it will only give me a headache. He's a fun character to have in the group, that's good enough for me.
It's a campaign where the heroes are 'evil' humanoids, including followers of 'evil' humanoid gods, and the villains are presumably good elves. And those 'good' elves were hunting down and systematically slaughtering the 'evil' humanoid tribes. I find its easier just to play a consistant character and let the DM worry about the alignments. Now that we're in the Underdark these questions should get easier, the elves that will be killing us will be drow, and evil by any standards.
