Except there aren't four basic amino acids, there are twenty.

There are however four basic nucleotides. Well, basic meaning abundant, because there are some other ones that are very necessary, inosine being chief among them.

Only thing you are missing is that genetics is cold hard science while psychology is just slightly better than a wild ass guess. Consider that biology is nearly 3000 years old, while psychology is barely a hundred. You're comparing apples and oranges.
