A Second Wind - A combat so good it revitalizes a character

Have you ever had one of those encounters where your character gets a chance to truly shine? I just did.

I've been playing a dwarf fighter named Delgrim Deep, and we just hit 19th level. With the DM's permission, I'd swapped out his paragon path; he became a Firstborn of Moradin (PHB2), and I switched a few of his powers around. Since we'd rolled up the characters at 18th level, there were bound to be a few things that didn't pan out as expected, so our DM was accomodating to some change-ups.

In our game, we had just reached a powerful gnome wizard with power over time in order to pick his brain for a way to defeat a Yuan-ti Anathema. Suffice to say the fey wizard thought it would be a delightful bit of entertainment if we all fought some of his friends in a non-lethal contest.

Over the course of the battle, my dwarf scored three critical hits, after scoring only two in the half dozen other sessions. He used all four daily uses of his Communal Craghammer, turning four misses to hits (after this had only come up twice during the rest of the campaign). He dropped a couple of foes with mighty blows, and consistently hit and rolled well on damage. All in all, it was just a fight that went his way.

So now, after being a little tired of the campaign and the character, I'm chomping at the bit to get back into things. Has anyone else had a character so revitalized by a good combat?
