[sblock=ooc] Awesome, that just leaves Dorn and Rrek before it's my turn. We probably won't need it, but at least I can use Nature as a last-ditch effort if Rrek doesn't get a success on his arcana check! [/sblock]
Dorn draws forth all of his remaining arcane energies - as he does not have any knowledge of how such a portal can be closed, he tries to aid Rrek's effort instead, amplifying and magnifying his every magical effect. (Arcana 17)
With the combination of arcane prowess and the natural connection the group manages to force the portal closed. You hear a roar of protest as it shuts. The mud ceases to flow from the device now that it's been repaired. All is quiet except your own heavy breathing as the adrenaline from the battle begins to wear off.
With the flow of mud ceased, Crag manages to stand up. He wasn't quite sure if his task was completed or if they would have to deal with another staff induced portal, so Crag closes his eyes and attempts to contact Terra. Hopefully he would get another vision that would let him know what needed to be done now.
[sblock=I don't think that's gonna happen...] Somehow, I don't think R1 plans on that being the end of our lil shin-dig. We didn't let the creature come out of the staff (which probably would have been the end of us all...), so I'm sure he's got a backup plan of nastiness in store for us before he lets us take an extended rest, lol. [/sblock]
Ingot prays for healing. // I went ahead and gave it to Ingot, Rrek if you were worse off, we can switch it to you. Ingot now at 26 hp, 2 surges left.
The warforged begins brushing at his blade and armor, trying to get the mud off, with limited success. "What next, Crag?" he asks his friend. "Do we take the staff? I'd rather not linger long here..."
