A Simple Errand (DM:renau1g, Judge: covaithe)

Ok, so you took a short rest, recovered your encounters, used HS's as required, and no are going to try for an extended rest. Where? In the ruins, outside in the wild? [/sblock]

Jax grins at Ingot's clapping then nods at his suggestion.

"A break would good. My arms feel like this mud now. But can we go outside to rest? Where it is green and warm."

[sblock=rest]My vote goes to an extended rest outside, where Jax might find a hot rock to lie on. Although it might be safer to rest in the first room if we could lock the front door.[/sblock]

[sblock=R1]An IC way out for Rrek and way in for Finch sounds great. Mechanically Finch is finished, just finishing up his background and hooks.[/sblock]

Ingot nods rapidly. "I have been looking forward to leaving this mud since we first came down here. Perhaps we can find a defensible spot in the ruins above. Or, maybe Crag can find us a good campsite in the wilderness."

[sblock=Treasure Distribution] Since Reklaw is ditching Rrek and bringing in a new character, I think we need to look at how much treasure we have collected, and determine who is getting what.

Treasure Totals:

Amulet of Physical Resolve +1: 520 gp
Goblin Totem Dagger +1: 520 gp
Acidic Fullblade +1: 840 gp
Repulsion Leather Armor +1: 520 gp
2 gems worth 189 gp each (378 gp for both) (time gold)
3 gems worth 267 gp each (801 gp for all 3) (time gold)
Gems (# not given) worth 200 gp
Coins worth 800 gp

The total above includes time gold, which should be in the following amounts:

Crag/Ingot/Dorn: 3 months x 89gp = 267gp
Jax/Rrek: 3 months x 63gp = 189gp

Huh, will you look at that. We have gems that match those perfectly. How convenient ;)

Here is what I propose for treasure distribution:

For now, ignore the 189gp and 267gp gems, since each of us will be getting one for time gold.

IF Reklaw is retiring Rrek to bring in Finch:

Jax: Amulet (520gp) + Dagger (520gp) = 1040gp
Ingot: Full Blade (840gp) = 840gp
Dorn: Armor (520gp) + the assorted gems (200gp) + 40gp in coins = 760gp
Crag: 760gp in coins = 760gp
Rrek: 0gp or items.

This may seem entirely unfair, however, because Reklaw is getting rid of Rrek, he will lose any treasure that is given to him anyway, and even though Finch is being brought in, he was not part of the adventure, and thus did not earn a share of the loot.

IF Reklaw has created Finch as his 2nd character and is NOT replacing Rrek (or if the DM/Judges feel Rrek should get a share of the loot anyway):

Jax: Amulet (520gp) + Dagger (520) = 1040gp
Ingot: Full Blade (840gp) = 840gp
Dorn: Armor (520gp)
Rrek: Assorted gems (200gp) + 300 gp in coins = 500gp
Crag: 500 gp in coins = 500gp

Unfortunately, this distribution skews things way in the favor of those who have actually been given items, but I'm sure R1 would make up for it in the next leg of the adventure. [/sblock]

[sblock=RE:Treasure Distribution]I'm perfectly fine with coming in with 0% of the treasure. Rrek is going to be retired and Finch will be the replacement 2nd character. The distribution example A that you had seems fair to me!

Thanks![/sblock]

[sblock=treasure distribution]From a balance standpoint, it doesn't seem very fair to cut Rrek's share to 0 and give his loot to the others. Our characters would be gaining more wealth than they otherwise should have earned. That kind of thinking would lead to an extreme example where of a party of six, five people retire at the end. Why would one character deserve six times the normal wealth for one adventure? So with that in mind, I think option B is the better choice.

Of course, Jax isn't really affected either way since he's getting items rather than coin. It still doesn't sit well with me that he gets two items (Crag, you sure you don't want the necklace?), but I'm sure R1 will adjust for it in the next batch of loot.[/sblock]

[sblock=Dekana]Since I'm retiring Rrek and making a new character I get 780gp that I can spend upon creation. This rather evens out the treasure distribution. Otherwise with distribution B Finch would be starting with 1280gp.[/sblock]

[sblock=Re Dekana] I'm very sure that Crag doesn't want the necklace, cause he's holding out for a Cloak of the Walking Wounded. The Necklace just wouldn't do much for Crag in the area's I'm wanting him to improve in (ie. take a ton of hits and keep on fighting). I'm perfectly okay with either option, I was just presenting them to the group to see what they think. I do agree that if 5 people were to retire in a 6 man party that man 6 should not get all of the treasure =P I'm fine with Option B where Rrek and I get 500 gp each and our time gold. R1 will catch us up soon enough :)

With that said, I will wait for the others to respond before I update my character sheet, as Reklaw himself has OK'd giving his share to the others. [/sblock]

[sblock=Treasure]
Don't fret too much about it. It'll all work itself out in the end. :)

If you were to leave Rrek with 0 gold and give yourselves more, I just will give less in the next leg (actually this would also shortchange Finch)

So...what's the plan. I just want someone to confirm actions.
