Compared to the idea that everyone who posts a negative opinion needs to simultaneously post a "cool tax"? Yes, I think my idea is brilliant, and I look for its incorporation in 4.5e.

Cheers, -- N

I agree. Please PM mearls about this, although we all know there's no 4.5e, but maybe in one of the Essentials line we can have this.

Anyone want to see pictures of my appendectomy scar?

B-)

Yes please.

Oh...uhhh....houserule?

HUMANS GET +2 TO ANY SKILL OF THEIR CHOICE. HUMANS ROCK!

Because reading this thread has been like watching a giant airship crash and burn.

I knew it was going to be too subtle a reference for anyone to get it...

That's actually what I thought...but I don't see this as a crash & burn. Personally, I kind of like the idea.

Its unenforceable, but its nice.

Really? You think it's a good idea to make people who are looking for nice little house-rules wade through sewage to get those nuggets?

If it succeeded at its stated purpose, it would suck for its intended audience. That's not good design.

I certainly didn't expect a charity, exactly...

No, I think
If you make a post blog that is only an argument and when I read it, it makes a blahblah blah sound, you have to give me something free at the end: new cool rule, or a monster(s), or some spells, or magic items or regular items that are different, or even better a map - And it can't be a link just to someplace else in your blog, it has to be new and cool.

is a good idea.

That way, instead of merely yakking about some aspect of a game you find "less than good", you constructively contribute to the game's improvement. IOW, I approve of the notion instead of merely pointing out a potential problem, you're actively trying to improve the game. You're trying to be a problem solver, not a merely a problem illustrator.

As I said before, though, I think its completely unenforceable.

Hell's Bells- I've been guilty of pure criticism myself. I try not to be- I generally try to suggest an alternative way to whatever it is I'm - but I'm not perfect.
