A Spell for Travel???

Our group is in the midst of attempting to herd a bunch of spell-casters into an anti-magic prison...

Initially, I had assumed we could use the spell Gate to to it (set up the gate so that it popped them out just inside the anti-magic prison while still allowing the spell to function)...

The prison is cleverly decorated to match a room similar to one in their home as to avoid suspicion of where they might be going and thus negating any opportunity for a will save.

However, after closer examination, I realized that Gate doesn't work when traveling on the same plane...

Is there is spell that does something similar to Gate while allowing travel on the same plane?

How about teleportation circle?
Would depend on whether or not an impressive bluff as to where they are going would negate the Will Save given any "unwilling" target that is being teleported... have to ask the DM about that one..

any other ideas?

I think she's looking for more of a "step through" kind of spell, as the ultimate destination is a permanent anti-magic field (sigil of antimagic from the Stronghold Builders Guide). Any thoughts with that?

Yes, we need something that we can have "open" right next to the prison room so that it is not affected by the Sigils of Anti-Magic.

I think there is a Psionic Power (Baneful Teleport) that forces a teleport on an opponent... Might want to double check that...
So far as our characters know-- and the players for that matter-- there are no psionics in our world so, it needs to be a spell.

No, Baneful (or was it Baleful?) Teleport will teleport parts of you away for a very short time, damaging you in the process. But there is a power to let you notice teleport attempts and even one to Redirect Teleport. Someone near you wants to teleport to X, but you make them teleport elsewhere.

You could, of course, create arcane versions of these spells, or have a Teleport Gate spell. Wish or Miracle might help out with that, too.

And I think somewhere (in the Manual of the Planes or the Planar Handbook) there are spells to redirect portals. Let them enter the portal thinking they arrive somewhere else, but instead they arrive in that prison (some portals even teleport the gear somewhere else, and maybe there's a spell that can turn make any portal do this for a short while). Illusion spells will help to mask the portal.

Great suggestion! Hadn't even throught about checking there!

I can't think of a core spell that does such a thing. My two concepts are look to the Forgotten Realms Campaign guide and build a Portal that meets your needs into a common archway with a triggering key that you give the person you need to dupe. No save. Just walk through and whammo. You can even make the portal one-way, or have a different activation key on the other side, or craft it so it deposits the living creature passing through it in one place and all of his wonderful inanimate loot elsewhere. In 3.5 its just a very powerful form of Wondrous Item, in 3.0 you need the Create Portal feat.

For spells, you can always look to previous editions and see if you can research it with DM approval into your current run - at which point I'd suggest Worldwalk - also from FR, which opened a see through gateway from any one point on a prime plan to any other point on the same prime plane.

That's all I got (at least while I'm at work)
