We're starting a new campaign, and I'm trying out a character concept I've wanted to do for a long time. I'll be playing a first level wizard, specializing in Conjuration. I had hoped that he would be a summoner, although less in the sense of the type of caster who calls in a swarm of dire badgers or whatever, but rather more like the caster who draws the pentagram on the floor, and burns the incense, that sort of thing. Less Summon Monster # and more Planar Ally.
Anyway, I'm a little lost as to what sort of gear he would have. Obviously, he can't be walking around with any high powered gear in any sense, nor any very valuable knowledge, i.e. truenames of powerful outsiders. My question is, what sort of mundane items might he have? So far, I've got chalk, his spellbook and component pouch, a bag of powdered silver and a bag of powdered copper, and candles. Can anyone think of anything else he might have? How about some magical items he might want to get later on?
Any good ideas for a name, as well?
