A Team Experiment

A Team Experiment

If you have noticed a party 4 four during your adventures, and asked to be invited and refused, we want to tell you why.

Sol, Tobur, Knuckles and Isabella are a group experiment. Led by the well known players Elendiel, Chazman, Bognar and Celia.

Our goal: To see if a generic, balanced group (Cleric, Rogue, Fighter and Wizard) can achieve the Crown of Ascension without other class assistance.

As Elendiel, Chazman and Bognar can tell you, many times groups encounter circumstances that are beyond them, because the group is not balanced.

They thought about creating a balanced group in the hopes that with just four, any battle can be won. Through team effort, adherance to rules of play, and an interest in fully enjoying Path of Ascension the way it was meant to be played, we feel this effort will not go un-rewarded.

In the interest of preserving the craft of RPG'ing in such a test environment, no members are allowed to solo, crafting is not appropriate, and requests for joining will be politely refused.

Other players are invited to interact with our group in all other aspects, and we are pleased to be part of a wonderful world, and the terrific group of people in it.

Indeed, this is an interesting experiment. And im pleased to be participating in it. Id also like to encourage those who have shown intrest in our group to get with some friends and start one of your own. Its a lot of fun to do it this way. Here are some basic guidlines we are following(some Celia already mentioned). Use or disreguard these suggestions as you will.

Start brand new characters. All shiny and new.

Only play these special characters when the rest of the team can play to.

No solo adventuring. Play as a group, log off as a group. Play your regular characters when not playing with the group.

Keep the classes basic.

No sharing items / gold/ from other characters you've already made... but if some other(not in your group of players or their other characters) gives you something as a gift, thats ok.

I think you get the idea from here. Its actualy a lot more fun than it might seem. Get with some people and give it a try. I would reccomend only being in one such group at a time though to avoid obvious schedule problems.

And this isnt power playing. Since you only meet as a group you wont gain levels as fast as your other 'play whenever' characters. Thats ok. In fact its part of the charm of the whole process.

Anyway have fun. Give it a try if you like. :)

Peace

As the third member of the group I can only confirm what the others already said: it´s been a blast so far!
We do try to roleplay our chars and it´s interesting to see old faces/players do something completely new with a different char, very cool and inspiring!
Another rule that we feel is important is no crafting allowed, because of the xp-imbalance it creates. When we play together it´s adventuring and role-playing that´s our main focus.
Lastly: we have (so far) a steady party leader wich also divides all loot (bigger stuff) evenly among the group, and it has worked very well.
What we don´t need for the group we sell and split.
It´s amazing how much easier it is when you are four than soloing or playing just two as Elendiel and I did for a long time.
highly recomended!
