A very reluctant question: how does one have fun with the Book of Exalted Deeds?

Yeah, it's in no way impossible to play with BoED.

It *does* help if everybody's playing a Goody Little Two-Shoes. Alternately, if the rest of the party is at least decent people (i.e. alignments are good), it should be workable. It depends on how demanding your character is; if you're playing what the other PCs think is a pain in the keister, REGARDLESS OF ALIGNMENT OR EXTREMITY, you shouldn't be surprised when there's conflict.

As an example, look at the FR setting. There are good deities there, but they allow the false and the faithless to go to Kelemvor's Wall. They do not intervene.

Well, why should they be able to intervene? The dead are Kelemvor's domain. He decides. Noone else.

And Kelemvor is LN.

Exalted deities might not like it, but they can do nothing about it, except trying to convert them to a better cause during their life, acting through their agents, the exalted mortals.

When's the neutral book coming out?
I kind of see most of the books out there as favouring neutrality, in some ways. ymmv.

However, I would like to see Lawful- and Chaotic-based books. Either one would probably see more use (by me as GM . . and player, actually) than the BoED and BoVD combined! :\

In answer to the OP, I agree with those who've stated that Exalted PC's are best situated in 'Good only' types of campaign. That's what I've found, so far. I'm also currently GMing one Exalted character (solo) - when we find the time for it. That works just fine, of course.
