Hello All,
I am running a Scarred Lands campaign, and so I allowed all the spells in Relic & Rituals 2. My player just sprang the spell Shocking missile on me. The relevent stats are:
level :2
casting time: 1 action
range :touch
target
ne arrow
duration
ermanent untill discharge
save :none
spell resist :none
infuses a single arrow with energy. The arrow can now be shot, and if it hits does normal damage plus 1d8+1 per caster level, to a maximum of 10d8+10.
This seems to me to be wildly overpowering. My first thought was that there was a typo, and the damage is 1d8+1 per caster level to a maximum of 1d8+10. My second thought was that permanent should be for a 24 hour period, or that it counts as a spell slot in use so that the slot can't be regained untill after the arrow is used. Otherwise my sixth level sorcerer is going to go around with a quiver full of 7d8+6 damage arrows. Knuckles would give his other leg for a crossbow like that.
Comments? Is there a typo? Should the spell be changed?
Thank you for your kind consideration.
