I'm currently playing an aasimar who is lion headed with a mane of white, iridescent fur.

If you consider that aasimar are humans with some connection or blood of celestials, they could look very different. Have you ever seen the depictions of angels based on their descriptions in the Bible? They can be terrifying.

You can really have fun with how they might like when you realise under D&D definitions, many of the Greek heroes might be called "aasimar", like Hercules or Persues, etc. Or even, perhaps, Egyptian royalty (being the "sons of Ra")

Oh wait, I know the best Aasimar example!

I prefer to just swap all of the fluff as aesthetics out for the deva. Unique racial appearance, more compelling backstory, etc.
