Ability score checks

I was looking for ways to increase the chance of succeeding on an ability score check. Currently the only thing that comes to mind is casting eagles splendour for a bonus to charisma and having a high charisma to begin with. I am going to have to make a number of these so they can' be expensive. (8th lvl slot for moment of prescience.) The DC range is from 16 to 21.

Is it specifically a charisma check, or are you looking for help with any ability check?

A circlet of persuasion will give you +3 on charisma checks. A single level dip into the Marshal class will let you add your charisma mod to your charisma checks (yes, it's dumb, but it's explicitly allowed) so you add it twice.

The Nymph's Kiss feat, I can't recall if it gives +2 on all charisma checks or just charisma skill checks, but check it out in Book of Exalted Deeds.

The only way to reliably increase your odds of succeeding on an ability score check is to increase your relevant ability score. Permanently you can do so by gaining 4 levels (in 3.5 edition), or using a Tome of Gainful Exercise or something similar. Semi-permanently, you can gain increases to ability scores through magic items such as the Belt of Giant Strength. Maximum increase is +6 per item.

If you only need a temporary boost, there are many options. These range from:
- Spells such as Eagle's Splendour. There is a spell for each ability score at level 2, and a Mass XYZ spell at level 6.
- Using the "Aid Another" action to give someone else a +2 bonus.
- Size increases through spells such as Enlarge Person.
- "Other" spells like Divine Power
- Class abilities like the Barbarian's Rage.
- Ask your DM for a circumstance bonus because of scenario specific preparations/role playing effects/whatever.

What is the DM requiring a Charisma check that is not covered by Bluff, Diplomacy or a Performance skill check?

I can see a Strength check for a feat to lift or keep something up. Say like Gov Arnold character did in Red Sonia movie to keep a tunnel from collapsing. Or a Intelligence check to remember some clue the DM gave out in last game session. Most other things are covered by a Skill or Saving Throw.

I was going to be using material from the book Diablo 2: Diablerie and the Amazon requires a charisma check for some of her skils after using them otherwise she can use them for the day.
