Ability Scores

I think i have figured out the racial ability scores by reverse engineering the DnD experience character sheets.
I figure its a 29 points buy (although 2 have worked out as 30 may be an error).
This is my Guess

Half-Elf (+2 Cha, +2 to any other ability except cha, seem to have picked con) 29 pts
Human (+2 to any 1 ability score, cant be the same one) 30 pts
Eladrin (+2 Dex, +2 Int) 29 pts
Dwarf (+2 Con, +2 Wis) 30 pts
Tifling (+2 Int, +2 Cha) 29 pts
Halfling (+2 Dex, +2 Cha) 29 pts

We know the tiflings are defiantly those adjustments from a photo of the book.
no matter who's theory you look at for ability scores there is 2 which end up with even numbers and 4 with odd. Ive seen some other suggestions but i think this one works out the best both thematically and mechanically although humans appear a bit gimped.
The only other possibility to even this balance is if half-elves get a +2 Con rather than pick where it goes but im not sure that that makes sense as elves are frail.

Someone else already did this and I think you got a few wrong (no offense).

If memorey serves, they are supposed to have 28 points, and those who ended up at 29 were mistakes (which ironically is most).

The dwarf is, I think, +2 STR and +2 CON (28 points).
The human seems to have +2 to any two (28 points) and probably must have +2 to a mental and +2 to a physical.

I get, for humans, +2 to one stat (wis), and 28 points, which hurts the character quite a bit. Though not as much as the paladin is hurt by not having an 18.

I did come to that same conclusion myself at one point but i figured the lesser number were the mistakes not the greater.

In adition i remember reading an offical post that said that only a couple of the points buys were out and they had extra points rather than less

How do you get that?

If you assume just one +2 to wisdom, then the human was built with 30 points.

STR 14 = 6
CON 12 = 4
DEX 10 = 2
INT 12 = 4
WIS 16 (+2 racial bonus) = 10
CHA 12 = 4

6+4+2+4+10+4 = 30

Same, and the official WotC reply was that he used 28 (or 29 if in error) cos it was 230am!

Which implies two +2 bonuses if Erais was built with 28 point..

Isn't it obvious? Pure blind thickheaded stupidity thats how I got it! Just added it up in my head wrong
Sorry!
Edit: I don't even have the excuse that it is stupid o'clock in the morning!

It's two +2's for the human.

If the human cleric has +2 to Wis only, then it's:

Str 14 (6 points)
Con 12 (4 points)
Dex 10 (2 points)
Int 12 (4 points)
Wis 16 (10 points)
Cha 12 (4 points)

Total: 30 points

Conclusion: the human gets another +2. It could have been assigned to any of the other stats, probably Str.

You can double check your point buy calculations here:

I blame daylight savings time. And maybe that its such an unfocused distribution of scores for 4e, which doesn't seem to require more than 3 or 4 stats (and only 4 when the class doubles up on a pair).

For me, it is stupid o'clock in the morning, and on 5 hours of sleep, too. Grr. Useless temporal adjustments.

Yeah, I figured that they were supposed to be 28 pt. buy and that the 29's were high (and strangely off with an odd number thrown in there). I imagine humans get a +2 to any two attributes, or a +2 to one physical and one mental - as others have suggested. The Dwarf is either getting a +2 to Str and Con or a +4 to Con.
