About Ravenloft

Ravenloft is also somewhat preachy when compared to other fantasy settings.
That's an odd way to put it. I mean, it's a game about Gothic Horror, Terrible Curses, etc. Of course Evil corrupts those who embrace its power.

i think he was reffering to the "be good or else" nature of the ravenloft powers checks. that is a somewhat preachy style of game when looked at from a certian perspective. i've known players who's main goal was to become some horrible creature with their character.

back on topic. when gearing up for a ravenloft campaign remember this: you cannot win, you can only hope that by some miracle you manage to escape. however if you are a native, you do not know that there is anything to escape to and anyone who says there is will probably be branded insane by the locals.

Well it was more of a general aligment question....

But I finally got my own book and a lot of things are clearer.

Knowing my DM, I think we are going to do a more action based game ... Like the band of heroes who travel from places to places who kill the monsters that trouble the village. I think he got slightly inspired after watching Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust :)

I'll continue my reading and will be back with more questions :)

Thanks again for the infos everyone.
