Which Thief type skills can one take 20 with? I'm pretty sure you can with Open Locks and Search (assuming no one is trying to stick you with something pointy) but how about disable device and the others?

You can take 20 on any skill that has no penalty for failure and can be attempted multiple times. So you can take 20 on open lock and search, but not on hide, move silently or disable device. With the rogue's long list of class skills, if you have questions on individual skills, please mention which ones you are curious about.

Look at take 10 also. You can take 10 at times when you couldn't take 20 (as long as you aren't rushed or under stress, you can take 10).

to stretch out Ealli's explanation a bit more:
you can take 10, 20 on any skill where there is no penalty for failure:
so you can use it on open lock, but not a lock that is trapped
you can use it on search, but if you are searching for traps
basically trapped things and opposed checks are the only things you cant take 10,20 on.

Actually, there is no reason you can't take 20 on opening a trapped lock -- the "penalty" is not for failing the open lock check, it's for failing the disable device check. If a PC doesn't successfully find a trap and then wants to take 20 on the open lock check, he would probably automatically set off the trap.
